The successful candidate:
Hours M-F 8-4:30pm Est
In addition to existing role as an Imaging Technologist for their designated modality, this individual will assist leadership in the implementation of Imaging department policies, procedures, and services for assigned modalities which include Nuclear Medicine, PET and Xray. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Familiar with a variety of the department’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Assists in coordinating the department’s Quality Program in collaboration with the Manager/Director. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Directs the work of others as required. Responsible for the maintenance of efficient scheduling, patient flow and quality assurance, as well as having alertness for fiscal soundness within assigned areas of responsibility. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Oversees Nuclear Medicine, PET and Xray, schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for assigned radiologic services. Assists in ensuring PACS data integrity. ACR, Physics, required employee education and quality control for given modalities/areas as needed to remain in compliance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
High School graduate or equivalent.
BS/BA in healthcare related field is desirable but not required.
Minimum of 5 years applied work experience in with exposure to all aspects of patient care within an Imaging Department.
Cross training in multiple modalities is desirable.
ARRT/ARDMS/CNMT or another applicable registry/licensure required in designated professional area.
American Heart Association BLS required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Working knowledge of modality operations including Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, and Xray.
Knowledge of Radiology technical coding (i.e. CPT and HCPCS).
Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as the need arises during the normal workday.
Should be able to handle careful work-flow coordination with multiple skilled professionals (including physicians) at virtually the same time.
Basic system trouble-shooting skills needed for working with radiologists, technologists, nurses, other ancillary personnel on day-to-day basis.
