City of Hope Medical Group Seeks Physician Scientist for Thyroid Cancer Program


Join one of the top cancer centers in the nation! Our rapidly expanding, nationally recognized cancer and diabetes institute seeks to hire a full-time physician scientist to join City of Hope’s Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism (DEM) at our National Medical Center campus in Duarte, CA. We are seeking mission-minded physicians as every discovery we make and every new treatment we create, gives people the chance to live longer, better, and more fully.

We are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds of basic, translational, or clinical research in endocrine tumor or metabolism. Priority will be given to those candidates with a track record of extramural funding. The successful candidate will also become a member of the Beckman Research Institute and/or Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute. City of Hope has a long and impressive history of groundbreaking discoveries in the field of cancer and diabetes. This faculty member will be given protective time for independent research and compete for extramural funding.

The selected faculty will be offered highly competitive start-up resources, laboratory space, and benefits. The research space will be located in the DMRI and will have access to the shared facilities and cores at the medical center, DMRI and Beckman Research Institute.  Interested candidates should apply to:  Ping H. This position is a rare opportunity to work in a 500+ member integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group practice serving an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center in highly desirable Southern California. Position Highlights:

Total Compensation Range: $300,000 - $400,000. The range listed is inclusive of base compensation for full-time employment commensurate with qualified academic rank and any applicable incentive compensation. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

Qualifications

  • Experience as physician scientist with good research training background and excellent clinical skills
  • Experience working in an academic medical center that delivers both clinical and translational research to patients diagnosed with endocrine conditions
  • The ideal candidate must participate in clinical or basic research relevant to Endocrinology and demonstrate a commitment to research as shown by submission of publications and presentations on national stages
  • Academic record consistent with appointment as Associate Professor
  • Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree, fellowship trained, and Board certified/eligible in Endocrinology
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license
