The Sterile Processing Technician processes, prepares, and maintains sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe and effective patient care. This role ensures proper storage, inventory control, and timely restocking of supplies and case carts to meet procedural needs. The technician follows established sterilization and infection control protocols while collaborating with clinical teams and assisting with additional departmental duties to promote efficiency, safety, and high-quality patient outcomes. 

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Process instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established policies, procedures, and infection prevention standards to support safe patient care.

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels by organizing, labeling, and restocking packs and supplies to ensure readiness for clinical and procedural needs.

  • Identify and report malfunctioning equipment, safety concerns, and process improvement opportunities to support regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement.

  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and in-service programs to remain current with best practices and organizational standards.

  • Support the care, maintenance, and proper handling of departmental equipment and supplies to ensure functionality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training; experience may substitute for minimum education requirements

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician or 1 year sterile processing experience in an acute care setting

  • Maintain knowledge in surgical and medical technology through in-services/courses

  • CPR

  • Preferred: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
