The laboratory of Dr. Linda Malkas develops targeted anticancer therapeutics that inhibit a cancer-associated form of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). Using cancer cell line models, our team investigates the cellular mechanisms of these agents and evaluates synergistic drug combinations designed to improve therapeutic efficacy.
We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to perform and optimize laboratory experiments, test anticancer drugs across various cell lines, and support ongoing research projects. On-the-job training will be provided.
As a successful candidate you will:
· Maintain mammalian cell cultures and perform cell viability assays.
· Perform monthly mycoplasma testing using PCR-based methods.
· Track equipment repair requests and assist with ordering laboratory supplies.
· Conduct experiments using immunofluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.
· Collaborate with laboratory members to develop and maintain lab protocols.
· Optimize experimental conditions for a variety of cellular assays.
· Analyze data, perform statistical analyses, prepare reports, maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, and present findings at lab meetings.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
· Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience
· Master of Science degree is preferred
· Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a research laboratory environment
