Join one of the top cancer centers in the nation! Our rapidly expanding, nationally recognized cancer institute seeks to hire a full-time academic Clinical Pathologist with subspecialty interest/expertise in Clinical Chemistry to meet the growing needs of our expanding Division of Clinical Pathology in the Department of Pathology to join City of Hope in Duarte, CA. Position Highlights:
The successful candidate will provide patient-centered care in collaboration with our diverse and nationally recognized team of physicians at City of Hope and will serve as the Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry at the Duarte campus, which supports the care of immunocompromised cancer and cellular therapy patients. The faculty member will lead a specialized chemistry laboratories which feature several chemistry automation lines, and will additionally lead efforts to further develop endocrine, immunology, tumor marker, and therapeutic drug monitoring assays within both current and future laboratory spaces. The faculty member should have a strong interest in clinical service and in clinical and/or translational research. The faculty member will represent the Clinical Laboratories in test utilization, departmental quality, and laboratory information system committees at the medical center and will provide coverage and on-call duties for other sections of Clinical Pathology as directed by the Chief of the Division of Clinical Pathology. In addition to the Chief of the Division of Clinical Pathology and Chair and Vice Chair in the Department of Pathology, the faculty member will work with CLIA Laboratory Directors across the City of Hope enterprise, the Executive Director of Clinical Laboratories, managers, supervisors, and technical staff on issues affecting clinical laboratory services and operations. The faculty member will promote an environment for collaboration, inter-disciplinary teamwork, and staff development through medical education.
Salary Range: $310k- $480K - The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education / Work Experience
· Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
· Board eligibility/certification in Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology from the American Board of Pathology
· Hold or be eligible for a medical license in the State of California.
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in or directing a clinical pathology laboratory or section are preferred. However, highly qualified applicants with fellowship training but without the minimum experience will also be considered.
· Clinical assistant to full professor ranks will be considered
Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Board eligibility/certification in Clinical Chemistry from the American Board of Pathology or American Board of Clinical Chemistry is strongly preferred
Minimum Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
· Requires knowledge of a diverse population of patients and interaction with staff from various departments.
· Experience in research methodologies and grant funding.
· Knowledge regarding all phases of technical leadership, training, quality assurance/quality control, and regulatory compliance associated with both IVD and laboratory-developed testing.
· Defining organizational goals, critical issues, and strategic plans.
· Modeling and upholding organizational norms and values (health and safety)
· Thinking strategically and innovatively while supporting department and institution-wide initiatives
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate with people at all levels
