Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at City of Hope, where we are changing lives and making a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are united by a shared mission: to contribute to innovative approaches that predict, prevent, and cure disease while helping shape the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

The Dr. Jeff Perry laboratory in the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a multidisciplinary drug discovery program focused on a redox-sensitive regulatory protein at the intersection of cellular stress responses, inflammation, and metabolic disease, including diabetes. This project aims to develop first-in-class small-molecule modulators of a protein that links oxidative stress to inflammatory signaling pathways, with strong therapeutic potential in metabolic and inflammatory disorders.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Use X-ray crystallography to support structure-guided drug design, lead recombinant protein expression and purification, and conduct quantitative biophysical and biochemical binding studies, such as SPR, ITC, and DSF.

  • Collaborate in a highly integrated research environment that brings together structural biology, chemical biology, and translational science.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Ph.D. in life sciences, biomedical sciences, structural biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline is required.

  • Prior experience in protein biochemistry and X-ray crystallography is essential.

  • Familiarity with redox biology, inflammatory signaling, or fragment-based discovery approaches is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated record of successful research projects and publications.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
