The Director, Change serves as an enterprise leader responsible for operationalizing how City of Hope navigates transformation through integrated change management and change leadership. This role leads complex, system-wide initiatives in partnership with executive leaders and functions, leveraging change management capabilities across change, culture, and employee experience. The Director establishes and operationalizes enterprise standards, builds organizational capability, oversees a portfolio of high-value strategic initiatives, and ensures leaders and teams are aligned, prepared, and equipped to deliver organizational priorities.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide change management strategies that enable successful organizational transformation.
- Partner with executive leaders to design and implement change approaches that support business objectives, culture, and employee experience.
- Oversee complex, cross-functional change initiatives and provide strategic direction to ensure successful adoption and business outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on change management, organizational effectiveness, culture, and employee experience strategies.
- Establish and govern system-wide frameworks, methodologies, tools, and standards for change management and change leadership.
- Build enterprise capability through training, coaching, advisory services, and reusable tools that enable leaders to effectively navigate change.
- Guide leaders through high-impact, high-ambiguity organizational challenges by aligning stakeholders and driving consensus.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for delivering enterprise change initiatives and portfolio support services.
- Partner across business functions to integrate communication, culture, experience, and change strategies into a cohesive organizational approach.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging industry trends, best practices, and innovative approaches to organizational transformation.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in change management, organizational culture, employee experience, or related disciplines.
- 3+ years advising executive leaders on organizational design, transformation, talent strategy, or enterprise change initiatives.
- Deep expertise in change management, organizational culture, employee experience, operating models, organizational design, engagement, and human-centered design.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and complex projects within large, matrixed organizations.
- Experience partnering directly with executive and senior leadership teams on high-impact strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional ability to influence without authority, navigate ambiguity, and align diverse stakeholder groups around shared goals.
- Strong executive presence with outstanding communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to create executive-level strategy materials, decision frameworks, and presentations.
- Experience in top-tier consulting environments, healthcare, research, or similarly complex organizations is highly desirable.
