We are seeking an exceptional Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of cancer care.
The ACNO provides strategic and operational leadership for nursing and covered patient care services across inpatient and outpatient settings, partnering with physician, clinical, and administrative leaders to advance clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation, workforce engagement, and organizational growth.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for nursing and patient care services across inpatient and outpatient operations.
- Establish and advance standards of care, quality, safety, patient outcomes, and patient experience.
- Partner with physician and executive leadership to implement standardized, evidence-based clinical practices and multidisciplinary models of care.
- Lead initiatives that improve access, operational performance, staff engagement, retention, and patient satisfaction.
- Develop and mentor high-performing leaders and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee staffing, workforce planning, productivity, budgets, and resource utilization.
- Support clinical program growth, innovation, research, facility planning, and other strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted and influential partner to physicians, nurses, executives, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act, Joint Commission standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Master’s degree in Nursing or related field; if in a related field, a bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
15+ years of registered nursing experience, including at least 10+ years in nursing leadership.
Current California RN license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Certification in a nursing specialty and/or leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cancer care, preferably within an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
- PhD or DNP.
- Progressive leadership experience overseeing complex inpatient and outpatient operations.
- Proven success in strategic program development, clinical transformation, quality improvement, and workforce engagement.
- Experience leading in a unionized healthcare environment, including effective labor-management relationships and collaborative resolution of workforce issues.
- Experience leading organizational growth, change management, or large-scale clinical initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with nursing, physician and executive leadership.
