We are looking for an Associate Project Manager within the Department of Surgery.  You will collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) and research administration staff to develop, coordinate, and facilitate the research activities of various projects. These responsibilities include building institutional databases, consenting patients in clinic, monitoring clinical studies for the PI, assisting with the development and drafting of clinical protocols, providing project management support throughout the study lifecycle, and assembling data needed for conference presentations, publications, and grant proposals. 

You will collaborate closely with the PI, faculty, and staff to manage projects; develop single investigator and large, multidisciplinary, multi-investigator studies; ensure regulatory compliance; and drive successful and timely completion of studies. 

You should display the following:

·         Knowledge of clinical research operations and regulatory workflows and a keen interest in learning more about the lifecycle of clinical studies at City of Hope

·         Knowledge of database development, maintenance, and reporting

·         Reliance on experience and sound judgment to define and accomplish goals

As a successful candidate, you will:

·         Manage research projects from initiation through completion, developing goals, objectives, timelines, and study endpoints to ensure successful execution.

·         Coordinate with investigators, institutional committees, and regulatory bodies to facilitate protocol submissions and maintain research compliance.

·         Oversee research databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, reporting efficiency, and accessibility for faculty and stakeholders.

·         Serve as a liaison between clinicians, scientists, and research teams to support collaboration and advance translational research initiatives.

·         Recruit, consent, and support study participants while building strong relationships and maintaining patient confidentiality.

·         Perform protocol-specific study activities and partner with the PI to ensure research is conducted with quality, rigor, and reproducibility.

·         Identify, resolve, and communicate protocol, operational, and data management issues to support study success and compliance.

·         Coordinate the collection, processing, and tracking of clinical specimens while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and protocol requirements.

·         Leverage institutional resources and infrastructure to drive efficient project execution and achieve research objectives.

·         Schedule meetings, coordinate communications, and provide ongoing project management support to keep studies on track and stakeholders aligned.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

·         Bachelors Degree in Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, biological sciences, or related field with one year of relevant experience. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.

·         Masters degree in in Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, biological sciences, or related field is preferred.

·         Experience writing grant proposals is preferred.

·         Experience with REDCap as well as an in-depth understanding of appropriate laboratory/clinical science or experience is preferred.
