The Marcucci and Zhang Laboratories at City of Hope are seeking a highly motivated Staff Scientist to join our research program in hematologic malignancies and cancer immunotherapy. Our research focuses on leukemia stem cells, the tumor microenvironment, CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific T-cell engagers, and microRNA biology, with the goal of developing novel therapies for leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms.
The successful candidate will lead independent and collaborative projects and contribute to high-impact publications and translational research.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Perform cell culture, lentiviral transduction, and molecular biology experiments.
Conduct multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis.
Perform in vivo studies using mouse models, including oral gavage, intravenous, and intraperitoneal injections.
Analyze data, prepare manuscripts and grant applications, and present research findings.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with cell culture, lentiviral transduction, flow cytometry, molecular biology (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, qPCR, Western blotting), and mouse studies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and scientific writing skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with CAR T-cell engineering, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models, or cancer immunotherapy.
