The Marcucci and Zhang Laboratories at City of Hope are seeking a highly motivated Staff Scientist to join our research program in hematologic malignancies and cancer immunotherapy. Our research focuses on leukemia stem cells, the tumor microenvironment, CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific T-cell engagers, and microRNA biology, with the goal of developing novel therapies for leukemia and myeloproliferative neoplasms.

The successful candidate will lead independent and collaborative projects and contribute to high-impact publications and translational research.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform cell culture, lentiviral transduction, and molecular biology experiments.

  • Conduct multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis.

  • Perform in vivo studies using mouse models, including oral gavage, intravenous, and intraperitoneal injections.

  • Analyze data, prepare manuscripts and grant applications, and present research findings.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with cell culture, lentiviral transduction, flow cytometry, molecular biology (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, qPCR, Western blotting), and mouse studies.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and scientific writing skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with CAR T-cell engineering, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models, or cancer immunotherapy.
