Department Information – South Pasadena

The Radiation Therapist reports directly to the Director of Radiation Oncology. This person will perform treatments and simulations on a Varian 2100iX and Philips CT simulator, and works closely with the entire radiation oncology care team to ensure prompt and efficient care delivery following COH policies and procedures. This role will collaborate regularly with other staff and leadership for ongoing clinical operational awareness. New grads are encourage to apply! 

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.

  • Reinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effects

  • Perform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry procedures

  • Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, reporting any variation in morning warm-up. Reports improper equipment operation to appropriate personnel

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program

  • Licensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy)

  • Certification by the ARRT – in Radiation Therapy CRT

  • BLS or CPR

  • Note: For Radiation Therapist I, candidates will have <3 years of RT experiences; pay range is listed above

    • For candidates with >3 years of RT experiences, candidates will qualify for RT II; pay range is: $61.20/hr - $76.50 - $91.80/hr
