The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I to join Dr. Jen Jen Yeh’s laboratory.
The group is focused on the studies of cancer genomics and novel therapies.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Analyze genomic and proteomic data and generate expression matrices using preexisting code.
Write short Perl/Python scripts to support straightforward data analysis and application tasks.
Run established computational pipelines accurately and consistently.
Perform molecular biology procedures, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA quantification, and RNA quantification.
Follow and execute bench protocols with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
Conduct tissue culture experiments that require careful technique and documentation.
Handle animal-related research activities in accordance with laboratory protocols and study needs.
Demonstrate strong organizational, experimental, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with in-vitro tissue culture method assays.
Experience with in-vivo tumor efficacy studies.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of molecular biology techniques.
Ability to present data in a precise and understandable format.
Experience working with a mouse colony.
Experience with non-invasive imaging modalities.
