Position Summary:
The fundamental role of the Analytics Engineer is to develop and maintain reusable data products that enable stakeholders to answer their own questions efficiently and effectively. They speak the language of data producers and consumers, translating analytical goals into models powered by the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Analytics Engineers make use of the EDW to create and maintain reusable data assets that enable self-service analytics across the enterprise.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Building data models in the data warehouse using dbt to support data analysis needs, consolidate data sources, and establish a self-service reporting platform
Work with Enterprise Data Warehouse team to integrate new data sources into the data warehouse as needed using Python or other EL scripting tools
Building data pipelines with a variety of tools
Ensure all stakeholders analytics needs are met by scoping projects, gathering requirements and prioritizing overall company needs
Migration and automation of legacy reporting tools to a new platform focused on creating a unified data model in the data warehouse
Skills & Technologies:
SQL
Data warehouse/ETL tooling such as dbt, Airflow/Prefect, Python, and Snowflake
Tableau (our current visualization tool) or related BI tool
Attention to detail and willingness to learn a variety of analytics and reporting tools
Familiarity using a scripting language to manipulate data, Python strongly preferred
Bonus Experience:
Experience developing and maintaining custom data pipelines with Python
Experience with Kimball style Dimensional Modeling
Experience developing unified data models in dbt
Healthcare data experience
Moving from Microsoft SQL Server to Azure Cloud
SQL: 3 years (Required)
Tableau or Similar BI Tool: 3 years (Required)
Modeling data and Scripting: 3 years (Required)
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
Undergraduate degree
Minimum Experience:
3 years of related experience
Experience SQL Server, Python and other scripting languages
