Position Summary

This role is dedicated to the Oncology Sexual Wellness Program and is responsible for planning, developing, and administering all sexual wellness services related to cancer care and survivorship. The position ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while addressing the sexual health concerns of patients affected by cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The individual will serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to integrate sexual health into the cancer treatment continuum. This role will also focus on expanding sexual wellness services throughout oncology care settings and within the local community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and addressing patients' sexual health needs related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

  • Providing education, support, and resources to patients and caregivers.

  • Promoting best practices and advancing expertise in oncology sexual health.

  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

  • Developing and delivering educational presentations on sexual wellness topics.

  • Supporting the growth and continuous improvement of a comprehensive sexual wellness program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed Therapist, Social Worker, or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Illinois.

    • Additional compact nursing licensure in another state (e.g., Wisconsin, Indiana) preferred.

  • Certification as a Sexual Health Educator, Counselor, or Therapist from a recognized program.

  • Active membership with a recognized sexual health organization such as:

    • AASECT (American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists)

    • SSTAR (Society for Sex Therapy and Research)

    • IBOSP (International Board of Sexuality Professionals)

    • Or equivalent recognized professional organization.

  • 3-5 years of oncology experience preferred.

  • Previous care management experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in sexual health and wellness.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver educational presentations to diverse audiences.
