The Executive Director, Organization Transformation and Project Management is responsible for partnering with executive management to lead the above areas in support of the organization’s strategic priorities, transformational
initiatives, and enterprise growth objectives. The individual who fills this role will blend their expertise and passion for organizational strategy, transformational change, and portfolio project management to design and lead complex, multi-phase initiatives that require speed, focus, and connectedness across the organization.

The successful candidate:

The Executive Director, Organization Transformation and Project Management is responsible for partnering with executive management to lead the above areas in support of the organization’s strategic priorities, transformational
initiatives, and enterprise growth objectives. The individual who fills this role will blend their expertise and passion for organizational strategy, transformational change, and portfolio project management to design and lead complex, multi-phase initiatives that require speed, focus, and connectedness across the organization.

The Executive Director leads a project management team that establishes and implements a project management system to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with City of Hope's strategic
goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to methodologies and tools supporting Transformation Enablement Strategies across enterprise initiatives.


The characteristics of a strong Executive Director, Organization Transformation and Project Management include:


 Passion for our Mission and Vision and the possibilities ahead
 Expertise and experience in Transformation Enablement Strategies and master facility planning
 Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, align, and partner with C-Suite, senior and faculty leaders,
clinicians, researchers and staff
 Understanding of the strategic direction and goals of the enterprise and the Transformation Office
 Ability to translate complex projects into clear roadmaps and plans to achieve desired outcomes

Ability to stay abreast of thought leadership and emerging practices in transformation and organization
strategy, and tailor them for use at City of Hope to ensure transformational capabilities continue to be
developed and improved
 Understanding of the behavioral, cultural and other impacts of transformation on people and application of
appropriate change management approaches
 Ability to grow transformation capabilities by building and evolving a high-performing team, as well as
assets and tools
 Strong and creative written and verbal communication skills
 Ability to coach and influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
 Flexibility and adaptability, and ability to work in ambiguous situations
 Strong organizational skills, with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
 Ability to lead complex, multi-year initiatives where stakeholder buy-in is critical

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • 10 years managing large-scale transformation initiatives in larger organizations

  • 7 years in leadership or management within Healthcare space

Preferred:

  • Master's in healthcare administration, business, engineering, project manangement or related

  • Experience with the use of lean/six-sigma methodology
