The pharmacy technician under the supervision of a registered pharmacist is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. The pharmacy technician will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory
systems. The pharmacy technician will assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintaining patient billing records.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work PRN between Monday-Friday 8:30a-5:00p.

  • Prepares sterile IV medications in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, including TPNs, chemotherapy, and IV infusions.

  • Processes and distributes medication orders accurately in collaboration with pharmacists and providers.

  • Maintains medication and supply inventory to support efficient pharmacy operations.

  • Coordinates medication deliveries and directs pharmacy communications to appropriate staff members.

  • Supports quality assurance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

  • Assists with monthly medication storage and regulatory inspections across clinical departments.

  • Contributes to efficient pharmacy workflow and overall departmental operations.

  • Maintains required competencies and stays current with applicable pharmacy practices and regulations.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED certification)

  • Current Georgia Pharmacy Technician License

  • National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status obtained within 1 year of employment (if lapses during employment then employee has 1 year to reinstate)
