City of Hope Medical Group is Seeking a Psychiatrist to Join the Main Campus
The Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a full time  board certified Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist with experience in psycho-oncology to meet the needs of our growing Psycho-Oncology program within the Department of Supportive Care Medicine on our main medical campus in Southern, CA.

Who We Are:

This position is an opportunity to work in a 400+ member, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that has become the only cancer-focused national health system in the United States. This rare position in psychosocial oncology is within our established and nationally recognized, interdisciplinary Department of Supportive Care Medicine, and is located in highly desirable Southern California, at an institution that is on the frontlines of both cancer research and treatment. This iconic medical center is an expanding institution in both numbers of patients per year as well as infrastructure investment in clinical, academic and research facilities, and is an expanding cancer healthcare system across the country. 


We are seeking candidates that are committed to excellence in compassionate patient care, open to continuous learning and are effective communicators who thrive in team-based settings. We will be accepting applications through Summer of 2023.

Position Highlights:

In this role, providers will focus on the clinical care of patients with a wide range of cancer types and across the disease trajectory. Care delivery is supported by a large interdisciplinary team that includes psychology, social work, palliative medicine, and other supportive care specialties, along with medical, surgical and radiation oncology, PT/OT, nutrition, and much more. Opportunities in education, research, and quality improvement are available and encouraged.

 

  • Position Highlights: Combination of inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic service
  • Generous 60 minute for new patient appointments and 30-45 minute follow up appointment blocks
  • Flexible schedule: 8am-5pm
  • 90% of patient panel are cancer patients. Experience with oncology patients is essential.
  • Physician will practice at the main flagship medical campus in Duarte California
  • Division currently includes 2 FTE psychiatrists and 1 FT Advanced Practice Provider

  • No ER coverage and no psychiatric holds
  • Generous salary and potential for sign-on bonus
  • Salary Range - $250k - $300k. The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
  • Outstanding benefits including up to 20% of IRS max toward annual retirement contribution *no match requirement
  • Relocation assistance available on a case-by case basis

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Academic record consistent with appointment at the Assistant, Associate Member or Professor level to fill a faculty position
  • Early Assistant or early to mid-career Associate Professor level at an ACGME accredited program is a plus but not required
  • Applicants must have an M.D./D.O. (or foreign equivalent) and be licensed or license eligible in California
  • Applicants must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in psychiatry 
  • Additional training in geriatric is a plus
