A Postdoctoral Fellow position is open in the laboratory of Dr. Guido Marcucci in the Department of Hematological Malignancies Translational Sciences.  The Marcucci laboratory studies the pathogenesis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and development of new treatments for AML based on these discoveries.  We seek an independent and highly motivated candidate interested in studying the molecular, cellular, and metabolic mechanisms leading to AML and resistance to therapy.  For a complete list of Publications please visit here

 

The following projects include:

·         Antibody-based therapeutics directed against AML and related myeloid malignancies

·         Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell-based therapeutics

·         Discovery of neoantigens and identification of HLA-restricted epitopes derived from them

 

As a successful candidate, you will:

·         Work with both genetically engineered mouse models, patient-derived AML xenograft models, and in vitro systems.

·         Techniques commonly used in the lab include: molecular biology, protein characterization including western blotting, flow cytometry, immunology, tissue culture, and microscopy, including the use of fluorescent probes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

·         Ph.D., M.D., or D.V.M. degree in life or biomedical sciences or a related discipline.

·         Experience in basic molecular biology

·         Experience in animal models

·         Experience in techniques used in immunology research
