The successful candidate:

The Surgical Technician will facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

 

·        Ensure the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

·        Properly handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

·        Ensures quality patient care at all times during the operative procedure and maintenance of the sterile field.

·        Acts as a consultant to the healthcare profession, patient or caregiver regarding patient advocacy and delivery of safe, competent, and quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Education Requirements

·        High School Diploma or equivalent

·        Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist training program

 

Minimum Experience

·        Participation in continuing education programs

·        2 years surgical tech experience preferred.

 

Required Certification/Licensure 

·        Certification eligible

·        BLS Certified
