Assistant Physicist – Radiation Oncology

As an Assistant Physicist in radiation therapy, your role is to support various aspects of dosimetry, calibration, treatment planning, and safety under the guidance of a licensed medical physicist. You'll be responsible for calculating treatment time, preparing dosimetric information, including contour taking, computer-assisted treatment planning, dose computation, and designing beam shaping blocks and compensators. Additionally, you'll handle documentation and treatment portal design, ensuring precision and adherence to safety protocols throughout the process. CLICK HERE to learn more about the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center! 

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Assist our Quality Assurance Program for Clinical Radiation Dosimetry: review of proper dose delivery and cumulative dose; compare computed dose with delivered dose using diodes or TLD's
  • Perform tests to check operation of therapy machines; recalibrate therapy machines.
  • Retrieve previous treatment records

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physics or Engineering
