Position Summary

Performs annual employee health screenings, including TB skin testing, to employees and, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, performs new hire physical assessments and injury/illness assessments. Provides vaccinations and laboratory screening per Employee Health policy and procedure and CDC recommendations. Performs employee contract tracing for infectious disease cases using infection prevention guideline for return to work.  Performs PCR and Rapid Antigen tests for Covid.  Performs first aid for work related injuries and referral for care.  Participates in employee wellness programs as appropriate.  Demonstrates a caring and professional manner at all times. This opportunity is for full-time, 10-hour shifts, and 40 hours per week. The possible work days are Monday - Friday, with a start time of 6:30am. Some travel will be required for the position.    

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Performs annual health screenings, records information in employee’s health record and advises employees on necessary follow up with EHS.
  • Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, performs new hire physical assessments. Clears new hires with screening and records information in employee’s health record.
  • Performs first aid to employees suffering from an injury/illness. May refer employees to industrial clinic for further medical attention.
  • Adheres to administration policies and department standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in the performance of established procedures and eliminate variances.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reviewing current literature, attending in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Prioritizes workflow, readily adapts to changes in assignment, and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Reviews pertinent department Standard Operational Procedures annually and as needed.
  • Maintains nursing licensure, CPR and annual safety certification.
  • Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent (GED)
  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized education
  • 2 years previous patient care experience required
  • Valid CA LVN license
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association
  • Prefer experience in Occupational Health and /or Employee Health in a hospital setting
