As a successful candidate, you will: 

Senior Technology Support Technician participates in the inspection, set-up, installation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair of AV Systems, personal computer hardware, and related peripherals, including software installation. Acts as the SME for AV integrations, PC software and hardware projects with emphasis in computer problem solving and coordination with Technology Technicians. Must have strong communication, motivation, documentation, organization, prioritization and customer service skills. Must possess a can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage people and build relationships with team members and customers at various levels.

  • Lead PC projects, including, but not limited to, large scale software/hardware upgrades/migrations.  Assist Technology Technicians with user calls as needed. 
  • Provide L2/L3  support  with complex Windows  or MAC software/hardware problems, mobile device, telecom or audiovisual issues, including technical assistance and training as required
  • Assist and guide personal computer users in defining hardware and software requirements.
  • Provide AV integration and support of all AV technology, to include: large displays, projectors and screens, Smart boards, digital signage, speakers, amplifiers, audio/visual switchers, mixers, microphones, control systems, videoconferencing units, cabling terminations and cable management systems.
  • Develop project-specific work plans and lead AV installation, maintenance and support activities.
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle deadlines and tight timelines
  • Provide formal installation instructions in software applications including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applications as required.
  • Provide equipment interface support including Tablets, ,printers, network cards, etc. 
  • Above average knowledge of and experience with installation of AV systems and equipment including front/rear projection, flat-panel displays, control systems, and AV signal routing and processing equipment.
  • Assists in coordinating referrals to appropriate technical, professional or service personnel for appropriate services, repairs, training, follow-up, ordering/renting special materials and supplies as needed.
  • Maintains professional growth and development and keeps abreast of latest trends in area of expertise.
  • Deliver and install computer and/or telephones and/or audiovisual equipment to appropriate onsite personnel. 
  • Assists in the maintenance, repair, termination and tests of all medical center telecommunications or audiovisual equipment, including , basic cabling, patient and staff telephones, , LCD, video, audio, and peripheral equipment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills using tack and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills and a demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • Three to five years experience in PC hardware/software support/deployment including peripherals in a high volume setting.  Project management skills for large-scale deployments.  General troubleshooting and experience with Local Area Networks required.
  • Current California Drivers License and a good driving record for insurance purposes.
