The Material Handler inspects, sorts, and delivers mail and supplies both on and off the City of Hope campus in Duarte. A typical day includes working with a team to receive, sort, and deliver approximately 600 packages and 1000 pieces of mail. Frequent lifting and driving are required for this position. Material Handlers use technology such as bar code scanners, computers, and mobile devices.

**Typical shift is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday**

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Deliver supplies, mail, and equipment to City of Hope departments on the Duarte campus and off campus.
  • Drive delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspect incoming orders on the dock to verify type, quantity, and condition against orders.
  • Interface with various departments to assure that requisitioned supplies are delivered efficiently, timely and in good order.
  • Deliver items including specimens, hazardous materials, and cash. 

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

  • High School or equivalent
  • Two years or more experience in receiving, warehousing or material handling (preferably in a health care environment).
  • Valid California Driver’s License and good driving record for insurance purposes.
