The lab or Dr. Behnam Badie at City of Hope is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow.  Dr. Badie’s research team is attempting to develop novel immunotherapy approaches for malignant brain tumors through the activation of microglia and macrophages using nanoparticles.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop and modify laboratory protocols for brain tumor research.
  • Conduct tissue culture, including the characterization and development of murine and human cell lines.
  • Perform in vivo mouse surgeries, including tumor implantation, tumor resection, osmotic pump implantation, and post-op monitoring.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, data analysis, and laboratory inventory.
  • Present findings at team meetings and contribute to manuscript preparation for publication in scientific journals.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

    Clinical, veterinary, or related scientific degree with related laboratory and surgical experience, including design and execution of related experiments, as indicated below:

    • PhD with 1 – 2 years relevant surgical experience.
    • DVM, MD with 0 – 1 year relevant surgical experience.
