City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

  

City of Hope is seeking a dedicated and experienced nurses to join our Evaluation Treatment Center team.  As a nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, monitor patient’s conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient in our outpatient Urgent Care/ER.  

 

In this Clinical Nurse IV role, you will: 

Lead and support the Evaluation Treatment Center team – responsible for supervising and supporting nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The Clinical Nurse IV monitors patient acuity levels and staffing needs, assists and de-escalation of medical emergencies, and provides direct patient care as needed. You will serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.

We are looking for passionate, skilled Urgent Care/ER nurses who can think critically, act decisively, and provide compassionate leadership for both patients and staff.  Your ability to communicate effectively, document thoroughly, and integrate cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual needs into care plans will be essential to this role.

  • Proven ability to work independently and follow through with minimal direction.
  • Offer emotional support and a compassionate presence to patients, fostering trust and confidence.
  • Understanding of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Current California Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
  • Current National certification must be maintained to retain CN IV status. City of Hope (Nursing Excellence Department and HR) approve certifications which are a subset of ANCC Magnet-recognized certifications as updated in ANCC Demographic Data Collection Tool. (DDCT)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic demeanor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
