The EEG Technician II provides comprehensive technical support for a clinical neurodiagnostic laboratory. This role involves independently conducting and managing a variety of diagnostic tests including electroencephalograms (EEGs), electromyograms (EMGs), nerve conduction tests, evoked potential tests, audiograms, and visual field tests. The technician ensures accurate data collection, patient safety, and equipment maintenance, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment plans for patients with neurological conditions. This position requires a thorough understanding of neurodiagnostic procedures and the ability to operate and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment within the scope of practice.
 
As a successful candidate, you will: 
  • Independently carry out the following tests: EEG's (adults and children), evoked potentials (visual, auditory, somatosensory, cognitive), audiograms, visual fields, and all other studies within their scope of practice
  • Assist physician in monitor and sensory nerve conduction tests, and EMG's. Reports findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team and other departments such as IT to assure that software updates for the neuro equipment occur in a timely manner.
  • Perform clerical duties as required including scheduling of procedures, archiving of studies, and charge entry.

Qualifications

Qualifications - External
Your qualifications should include:
  • High School or equivalent
  • Two years of experience performing neurological studies
  • Registered EEG Technologist Certificate within 2 years of hire/ transfer
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
