Social Worker III - OC Hospital
Join the transformative team at City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix. Our dedicated and compassionate employees are driven by a common mission: To deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today.
About City of Hope Orange County
City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
Be part of something meaningful and groundbreaking. We are hiring two full-time Clinical Social Worker III (CSW III) professionals to join the team at the new City of Hope hospital in Orange County.
The CSW III must hold a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and an active California LCSW license. This advanced clinical role delivers direct medical social work services, including counseling, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and discharge planning. The CSW III also mentors MSWs, contributes to multidisciplinary care teams, and participates in on-call rotation.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new facility’s psychosocial care model, engage in program development, lead education and supervision efforts, and contribute to performance improvement and policy initiatives.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Deliver timely, compassionate, and culturally sensitive psychosocial care across the continuum—from diagnosis through survivorship and end-of-life.
- Demonstrate clinical competence and sound judgment in providing care that aligns with professional, regulatory, and City of Hope standards.
- Serve as a mentor and leader, providing supervision to MSWs/MSW students and contributing to staff development, training, and team collaboration.
- Communicate effectively and document thoroughly, ensuring compliance with state, national, and Joint Commission standards.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary care, hospital committees, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Represent the profession and City of Hope with integrity—engaging in community outreach, professional organizations, and strategic development efforts.
