Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. The Cardiology Technician is an integral part of the healthcare team, primarily responsible for performing various non-ultrasound cardiac diagnostic tests and assisting physicians in the cardiology department. Key responsibilities include conducting EKGs, rhythm strips, stress tests, perfusion stress tests, Holter monitoring, and pacemaker checks. Additionally, they manage administrative tasks such as scheduling tests, answering phones, preparing and filing reports, and assisting physicians with information requests. The role requires adherence to strict procedures for patient identification and infection control to ensure the safety and accuracy of diagnostic procedures.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Be responsible for collection of EKG data from the ECG machine into the EKG database.
- Be responsible for reporting critical values to Physician and/or RN. Provides timely STAT EKG as ordered.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patient related to EKG.
- Be responsible for proper cleaning of equipment and following infection control policy and procedures. Maintain inventory control, storage, and routine supplies in department.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent
- Prefer one year of experience in medical office or hospital setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
