Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Culinary Services Lead to support the daily operations of our Culinary Services department. In this role, you will work closely with department leadership and team members to ensure a safe, high-quality dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff. You will serve as a key point of contact for resolving operational challenges and maintaining service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily operations by resolving service barriers and ensuring smooth workflow.
Oversee cash, credit, and house account reconciliations; conduct weekly cashier audits and maintain documentation.
Assist with staff scheduling and shift coverage.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of service and dining areas, including temperature validation procedures.
Lead pre-service meetings and review menus and portion sizes with staff.
Uphold all hospital and department policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food and beverage, hospitality, or a high-volume hospital cafeteria setting preferred.
Previous catering experience is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Food Handler’s Permit from your local health department (required in IL).
Certification from an ANSI-accredited food handler training program (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
ServeSafe certification preferred.
Food Protection Manager certification (IL) preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and team collaboration abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
