Position Summary:

City of Hope is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our team in the infusion clinic, specializing in cancer treatment. In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge cancer therapies to our patients, providing comfort, support, and hope during their cancer journey. This opportunity is for per diem, 12-hour shifts, and designated for the day shift (8:00am start time). The per diem flat rate for this position is $78.524/hr and there is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments with precision, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor patients closely during infusions and procedural chemo administrations, assessing for adverse reactions and providing immediate care as needed.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, pharmacists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment administration.
  • Offer emotional support and a compassionate presence to patients, fostering trust and confidence.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer). 
  • Current California RN license
  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience (as RN), preferred background in oncology nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
  • ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card
  • OCN (preferred)
  • Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and a deep understanding of cancer treatment principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
