Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.
The laboratories of Dr. Le Xuan Truong Nguyen in the Department of Hematological Malignancies and Translational Sciences are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Fellow to join a collaborative and well-established research team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead independent projects focused on cancer biology and drug development, with strong potential for publication in high-impact journals. Our research aims to uncover fundamental mechanisms of leukemogenesis and solid tumor progression, with a particular emphasis on identifying novel therapeutic targets and resistance pathways.
Current projects explore the prognostic significance of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other solid cancers. We are especially interested in therapeutic strategies that exploit mitochondrial vulnerabilities, including the use of nucleoside analogs, small GTPase inhibitors, natural plant-derived compounds, and immunotherapies. Candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, cancer research, or pharmacology who are passionate about translational science are encouraged to apply.
As a successful candidate you will:
- Lead and execute experimental projects, both in vitro and in vivo
- Analyze data, interpret results, and report findings
- Collaborate with PI and team on experimental design and execution
- Write and contribute to scientific papers and grant proposals
- Perform in vitro techniques including cell culture, western blot, qPCR, cloning, and more
- Conduct in vivo procedures such as injections, blood collection, and organ harvesting
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- A Ph.D. or M.D. in a relevant biomedical or life sciences field.
- Strong background in molecular signaling, cancer biology, and leukemia research.
- Demonstrated experience with murine models and in vivo experimentation.
- Additional expertise in immunology is highly desirable.
