As a successful candidate, you will: 

Under minimal supervision, the Lead Financial Analyst role will provide complex financial modeling and analytic support for both existing and new-growth activities (mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships, new ventures, business cases, contract modeling, Provider-incentive modeling) and be a key member of the Professional Services team. Primary duties include but are not limited to building financial productivity and compensation pro-formas, researching trends, evaluating data, managing stakeholders, and keeping senior leadership appraised of key risks. Additionally, the Lead Financial Analyst will lead small and medium size projects in operations, process improvement initiative, mergers and acquisition analytics and business line development. The Lead Financial Analyst will develop and analyze productivity metrics as well as build summary analyses. The position may also provide support for cross-functional projects for Financial Planning & Analysis. 

 

The role develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for PSA and SSA contracts. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future performance of PSA and SSA contracts. Gathers analyze, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities and investment performance.

 

As a successful candidate, you will:

Contract Interpretation and Automation

  • Manage and execute the process of gathering, documenting, financial interpretation and developing business processes and procedures for operational implementation, financial health reporting and financial analytics of PSA/SSA Contracts, Shared Risk.
  • Communicate the requirements to the technical team for IT automation and design and implementation of developed process and procedures. Provide other division leads with PSA training and guidance as Subject Matter Expert.

Project Management and Analytics

  • Responsible for completing complex financial and operational analyses of PSA/SSA, Managed Care and Business Development contracts and develop proposals including Medical Group initiatives.
  • Resolve issues of PSA, PEA’s, system wide funds flow, accounting procedures, and productivity reporting.
  • Research and become SME on various Provider models, billing rules, Provider clinical operations and Provider clinical abilities.

Process & Contract   Improvement

  • Leads teams that develop process improvement initiatives which support business needs and enhance the contract negotiation strategies, product development and merger and acquisition (M&A) activities.
  • Gathers and exchanges information and provides guidance and problem resolution on complex, challenging and variable situations that demand analytical, interpretive and evaluative thinking.

Adhoc Reporting & Analytics

  • Utilizes Medical Groups accounting system, Payroll detail, PeopleSoft, COGNOS relational database, Tableau and business intelligence, Excel, VBA and other desktop analytical reporting tools to access data and develop detailed standard and ad-hoc reports and summaries that support managed care business development and COH Medical Group and Medical Foundation strategies
  • Identifies key indicators that drive performance of contracts, operations, incentives and the financial health of the COH system organizations.
  • Conducts proposal impact analyses and modeling, assesses utilization trends, identifies risks, develops projections, determines opportunities and prepares detailed written recommendations and summaries for management review and decision-making.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field from an accredited university.
  • 7+ years in finance, including preparation of business plans, budgets and productivity analysis.

Preferred Experience:

  • Physician management.
  • Provider compensation.
  • Related field of Business with an emphasis in Finance and Data Analytics.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel, Access Familiarity with systems such as Cognos, Crystal Reports and SQL/VBA a plus.
