The successful candidate:
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Every Other Weekend
The Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within expected turnaround times to support optimal patient outcomes. This role requires a solid understanding of the theory behind laboratory procedures and the ability to identify and report issues. Responsibilities also include performing maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment in accordance with departmental protocols.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience) required
Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory preferred
MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred
Skills & Qualifications:
Professional demeanor and flexibility to meet department needs
Strong collaboration and communication skills with coworkers, nursing staff, and physicians
Knowledge of regulatory standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
