We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team in Outpatient Leukemia. The PA will play a vital role in the management and care of adult patients diagnosed with leukemia and related hematologic malignancies. Under the supervision of attending physicians, the PA will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient assessments, formulating and implementing treatment plans, managing chemotherapy and supportive care, and providing ongoing patient education.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for oncology care. This role requires the ability to manage complex medical conditions in a fast-paced outpatient setting, collaborating closely with hematologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other support staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

 

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Conduct initial and follow-up patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and reviewing diagnostic results.
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with hematology physicians.
  • Monitor and manage side effects of chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and other treatments.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, disease progression, and symptom management.
  • Coordinate care with inpatient teams, specialty services, and support programs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:  

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master’s degree as a Physician Assistant.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Current California Physician Assistant License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification, required.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification, required.
  • Must have a current DEA.
