This role involves providing one-on-one safety assistance for patients in situations where alternatives or restraints may not be suitable. The focus on both physical presence (1:1 sitting) and virtual sitting reflects a comprehensive approach to patient care.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • One-on-One Sitting: Physically being present with the patient to monitor and provide immediate assistance, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Virtual Sitting: Using technology to remotely monitor and communicate with patients, providing real-time support when physical presence may not be possible.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Possessing the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively provide one-on-one safety assistance, adapting to the unique needs of each patient.
  • Alternatives to Restraints: Understanding and implementing alternatives to restraints, emphasizing a person-centered approach to care.
  • Adaptability: Being able to adapt to varying situations and patient conditions, responding appropriately to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, especially in the context of virtual sitting, where clear communication remotely is essential.
  • Patient-Centered Care: A commitment to patient-centered care, prioritizing the well-being of individuals under your care.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • 6 months patient care experience or experience working in a healthcare  environment.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Patient Monitoring Device (where applicable)
  • AHA BLS Certification
