We have an exciting opportunity for a Gynecologic Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join us as at City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine.  The NP provides specialized care to patients with gynecologic cancers in an outpatient (ambulatory) clinical setting. Working collaboratively with a physician, surgeons, two NPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members, the NP is responsible for the evaluation, management, and coordination of care for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgical follow-up, and survivorship care. The NP serves as a clinical expert, patient advocate, and educator, promoting evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Conduct comprehensive health assessments including histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.

Manage ongoing care for patients with gynecologic malignancies (e.g., ovarian, cervical, uterine, vulvar cancers) in coordination with oncologists and care teams.

Prescribe and monitor treatment regimens including chemotherapy, hormone therapy, pain management, and symptom control.

Monitor for treatment side effects and complications, providing timely interventions.

Provide pre- and post-operative education and care in coordination with surgical teams.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, social work, and palliative care.

Coordinate referrals, imaging, lab work, and follow-up care as needed.

Support survivorship planning, genetic counseling referrals, and end-of-life care discussions as appropriate.

Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and follow-up care.

Promote informed decision-making and provide emotional support throughout the continuum of cancer care.

Must have good time management skills and the ability to adapt to changes

Maintain current knowledge in gynecologic oncology and adhere to clinical guidelines and protocols.

Participate in quality improvement, clinical research initiatives, and continuing education.

  • Ensure documentation meets regulatory and institutional standards

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

·       Master’s degree, or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner

·       Three years of clinical experience (Gynecology, Oncology, Gyn Surgery and Survivorship experience is highly preferred)

·       Current California RN license

·       Current California Nurse Practitioner license

·       Current California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license.

·       DEA expected within 6 months of hire.

·       National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification thorough accrediting body

·       Specialty certification as defined/required for role.

·       Current BLS certification through American Heart Association

·       Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
