City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
Hybrid Work Schedule. 2-3 days onsite in Irvine CA
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Work independently as a first-line Electronic Health Record (EHR) support for nursing, physician and other end-users in the clinical environment.
- Maintain a consistent and visible presence in clinical areas interfacing with end-users.
- Independently provides training in the classroom setting as needed.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and demonstrates patience when working with end-users of varying skill levels.
- Develop collegial and trusting relationships with end-users.
- Employ strategies to ensure implementation issues are effectively addressed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Lead Adoption Specialist, Physician Adoption Lead, Physician Liaisons, Super Users, Key Stakeholders, Informatics, IT teams and Training team to identify trends in clinician support issues.
- Demonstrate excellence in computer knowledge of systems required to perform duties.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by positive management of difficult behavior by end-users. Identifies situations that need assistance for resolution.
- Promote a positive work environment by demonstrating a professional appearance and positive, professional communication.
- Maintain current knowledge of system and updates, as well as policies that are supported by clinical applications.
- Independently support users in maintaining workflow changes and system updates.
- Coach, mentor and provide guidance to the Associate Adoption Specialists.
- Attend meetings as required, and participates on committees as directed.
- Maintain a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience may substitute
- Greater than 3 years of healthcare experience in an area of expertise.
- Training and high level support of clinicians on Electronic Health Record.
- Previous experience training and supporting clinicians with clinical information systems. Excellent understanding of physician workflows and terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current California RN license
- Epic certification
