Position Summary: 
Under the direction of the Medical Director for the Cherng Center for Integrative Oncology, the Mind-Body Medicine provider will be responsible for delivering evidence-based mind-body practices as part of the integrative oncology care team. This role aims to support patients undergoing cancer treatment with the incorporation of mind-body practices that enhance overall well-being, reduce stress, and improve quality of life. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team to create individualized, holistic care plans for cancer patients.
This role will meet with patients, creating an individualized treatment plan. The provider will develop curriculum and facilitate mind body medicine group sessions. This role will follow standard documentation practices for both individual and group sessions. 
The MBM provider will additionally support the growth of the service line and integrative oncology program by engaging in research, education, grant and philanthropic opportunities.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Provide oncology patients individual and group mind-body medicine interventions, including but not limited to relaxation techniques, mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, and stress management strategies. These therapies will address psychological, physical, spiritual and social dimensions of cancer care that will enhance coping mechanisms and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and pain.
  • Collaborate with the integrative oncology and the supportive care teams to develop personalized, patient-centered care plans, ensuring that mind-body practices are integrated effectively into overall treatment protocols.
  • Conduct initial assessments to understand patients' overall emotional well-being.
  • Educate patients on the benefits of mind-body therapies and empower them to incorporate practices into their daily routines for ongoing support and self-care.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment approaches as necessary, and track outcomes related to stress reduction, symptom management, and quality of life.
  • Provide psychoeducational workshops, seminars, and support groups to foster community engagement and shared learning among patients and caregivers. 
     

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field (chaplaincy, mind body medicine, psychology, counseling, social work, nursing, or integrative health).
  • 2–3 years of experience facilitating mind-body interventions or working in a clinical or wellness setting.
  • Experience working with cancer patients in an integrative or clinical setting.
