Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm

Position Summary:
The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow through the clinic. This multifaceted position includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities to support patient care. Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, Director, Medical Oncologist, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, the CMA/RMA utilizes their training to assist clinicians and provide an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform delegated clinical tasks for assigned patient populations

  • Support administrative duties such as triaging phone calls, coordinating documentation, and ordering supplies

  • Facilitate communication between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers, and clinical departments

  • Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines

  • Report to the Practice Manager and/or Director

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in a comparable role within the last 3 years

  • At least 3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting

  • Relevant specialty experience preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of one of the following:

    • An approved Medical Assistant training program

    • An unapproved program with successful completion of the AAMA or AMT certification exam

    • A U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program

    • A relevant and applicable clinical program

Certification:

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (or equivalent applicable certification)

Special Skills:          

  • Strong multitasking skills completing both Clinical and Clerical tasks.          

  • Training:  Phlebotomy, EKG, Glucometer Testing, EHR and Clinical Program Utilization, Transcription
