Cardiology Technician I-Per Diem

The Cardiology Technician is an entry-level professional, who performs all non-ultrasound cardiac diagnostic studies including EKG, rhythm strips, stress tests, perfusion stress tests, Holter monitoring, and pacemaker checks. This professional is also responsible for scheduling tests, answering phones, preparing and filing reports, assisting physicians with requests for information, and other general operations duties.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Performs cardiac diagnostics tests including but not limited to:
12 lead EKG’s, rhythm strips, stress tests, perfusion stress tests (walking and non-walking), 24-hour Holter Monitoring (application and scanning), telephonic pacemaker check, complete pacemaker interrogation. Follows all procedure on proper patient identification and infection control prior to the start of any procedure.
Responsible for collection of EKG data from the ECG machine into the EKG database. Responsible for maintenance and stocking of supplies on EKG carts. Responsible for reporting critical values to Physician and/or RN. Provides timely STAT EKG as ordered.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patient related to EKG.
Responsible for proper cleaning of equipment and following infection control policy and procedures. Maintains inventory control, storage, and routine supplies in department.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
High School or equivalent
Completion of course in medical terminology, preferred
Prefer one year of experience in medical office or hospital setting.
BLS through the American Heart Association
Prefer EKG Experience/or certification, preferred

Hourly Per Diem Rate: $40.421850
